Accomplishments
  • Recommended a skate park for teens which was approved by the City Commission and built in 2004.  This park is located at 301 Courtland Boulevard and is named the “Youth Advisory Lake Butler Skate Park”.  
  • Held fundraiser events at the City’s Music in the Courtyard events during the summer.  Raised enough money to buy a Memorial Bench for placement in the Dewey Boster Sports Complex, one of the City’s 18 parks.
  • Had a fundraiser to benefit the youth in the community (the funds enabled them to host a teen dance at Wes Crile Park on Saturday, June 6, 2009).  All the attendees (9th thru 12th grade) had a great time.   
  • Hosted a food and clothing drive to benefit the Community Life Center.  Collected 1,673 pounds of clothing and 329 pounds of food which provided 526 meals!
  • Sold t-shirts to raise monies for the City’s Relay for Life which benefits the American Cancer Society (October 2009).
  • Assisted in the distribution of materials for the 2010 Census.
  • Designed and built a float celebrating Deltona’s 47th birthday.  Entered the Deltona Day Parade in November 2009 and won 3rd place for “Best All Around Entry”.
  • Co-hosted the youth/senior prom as part of “Deltona Days” 2009.
  • Volunteered over 485 hours in 2009.
  • Nominated for and won the 2009 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award, Youth Group Category from United Way.
