The City of Deltona celebrates Arbor Day with an annual event designed to encourage residents to go green by planting shrubs and trees and educating them on the importance trees play in both our local and global environments. This year’s celebration will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 28, in the Courtyard at City Hall, 2345 Providence Blvd.
The City plans to offer 300 free trees. This year’s selection will include an assortment of crepe myrtles, wax myrtles and azaleas. Free popcorn and lemonade will be available for everyone.
The City of Deltona became a designated Tree City USA in 2007 and chose 2007 as the first year to host an Arbor Day celebration in honor of their designation.
