Deputy Chief Christopher Sievert
Deputy Chief Christopher Sievert started his career in public safety at age 16 with Volusia County Fire Services as a Cadet and eventually Volunteer District Captain for Station 15 Pierson (Now Station 44) at age 18 . He completed his Emergency Medical Technician Certification through Daytona Beach Community College while being dual enrolled in high School.  After attending fire standards through Seminole Community College, he became employed with the City of Orange City Fire Department for approximately 2 years as a Firefighter/EMT. In 1989, Chief Sievert was offered a starting firefighter position here in Deltona.   Chief Sievert attended and graduated from Seminole Community College with an AS Degree in Paramedic Technology. Prior to graduating from Seminole Community College, he was re-hired by Orange City Fire Department as their part-time administrator / Fire Chief in 1990 at the age of 25 and remained employed with OCFD until in 2004 with 18 years of service with the City of Orange City. His 27 year employment history with the City of Deltona, has been a progression through the rank structure with holding the positions of Firefighter, Engineer, Lieutenant, Battalion Chief and today as the Deputy Chief. His education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management and a Masters Degree in Emergency Management from Jacksonville State University in Alabama.



Assistant Chief Dean Debose
Assistant Chief Dean Debose started in the fire service as a Firefighter in 1997 and quickly earned the rank of Engineer/Paramedic before earning his latest promotion to Assistant Chief of Training. He has earned a degree in Emergency Medical Services from Seminole Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management. Dean has played an integral part with both the department’s Special Operations Unit and the Honor Guard. Dean is a member of the Florida Fire Chief’s Association; a Florida State Certified Instructor III and an Arson Investigator. Dean has the responsibility of Fire Training and Safety of all Department personnel. Dean’s responsibilities include coordination of all fire-related training including fire suppression, automobile extrication, special operations and development of new personnel.  He also ensures the department’s compliance of required training in each of the above areas as mandated by the Insurance Services Organization (ISO). He is also tasked with ensuring the safety of our personnel through the employment of training techniques, proper safety equipment and compliance with regulatory agencies.
